Agnosticism and the art of Motorcycle Maintenance?
I claim an experience of "faith", which I can not explain. It has nothing to do with a great hairy man in flowing robes doling out virtue . . . but as something that was true, but unexplainable. Admittedly the best I can do is to say I believe it happened.
This has meant only that I realize I am not 100% sure of anything. Further, it means, to me that no one can be 100% sure of anything . . . TRUTH; absolute truth; is beyond us at this point in our evolution ("evolution" is not an evil word).
My question comes down to this; to the religious a matter of faith is explainable in specific terms, and to a great deal of atheism that event must have had a reason founded in logic or science . . . both sides "explain" it though . . . . I am interested in opinions other than "God did it" or "it’s all chemical". Are there any answers, possibly from people who have had similar experiences, along the lines of confirming or denying that which is beyond our simple corporeal existence?
J.pop and sew (you will appreciate this) . . . never has the dichotomy between reason and mindlessness been so clearly exhibited as in the difference between your two answers and the other one . . . .
Great answers . . . can I give the points to the hypocrite?
Absolute truth is not beyond God. God gave us absolute truth in the bible and sent him to the earth as his only begotten son Jesus Christ. He spoke the absolute truth and those who heard him wrote it down for us. Now the question you need to answer is…is the testimony that Jesus gave reliable? I believe it is i trust my life to him. Thats all he asked you to do. He never said you had to absolutely know anything that is his Job. Simply take him at his word. Trust him. Here is some of the absolute truth he gave us.
